ANXIETY PSYCHOLOGIST EDMONTON

Your heart is racing. Your body feels tense. And it feels like you just can't stop shaking - like there's a tremor inside you that just won't go away. You have worries that you just can't seem to control. Your mind likes to jump to the absolute worst case scenario and you get stuck there, frantically trying to prepare yourself for the scariest future outcome.

Sleep is tough - your thoughts consume you and you can't seem to get out of your head enough to get any rest.

Maybe you avoid going out, or pursuing things you would really like to because you feel stuck in your fears and the "what ifs...."

Maybe you spend a lot of time online trying to just figure things out.

Maybe you find yourself constantly looking to others for reassurance or to finally get a sense of certainty or control.

Anxiety is exhausting. But you are not alone.

HOW THERAPY CAN HELP

I understand the toll anxiety can take - how you never really feel free from it. And I work with individuals every day to support them in learning to manage their anxiety and to live more fulfilling lives.

Through evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), you can learn to:

-find ways to calm and relax your body and nervous system

-quiet your anxious thoughts

-learn to think in a healthier, more functional way

-take action on things you have been avoiding

-improve relationships with others

This is a talk therapy approach that also teaches you specific tools and strategies that you can incorporate into your daily life.
