So What Is CBT anyways?

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a well-researched, evidence based therapy, that we might even call a gold standard treatment for many mental health disorders and concerns.

CBT helps you understand the connection between your thoughts, behaviors, feelings, and physical symptoms. We can sometimes get stuck in negative or unhelpful thought patterns or behaviors that can lead to uncomfortable feelings such as worry, anxiety, low self-esteem, overwhelm, lack of confidence, worthlessness, guilt, and depression.

CBT encourages you to explore the thought patterns and/or behaviors that are not serving you well, learn to question and challenge these, and adopt more flexible and functional ways of thinking. CBT can provide you with specific tools and strategies that you can incorporate to lead you towards a happier, more fulfilling life.

What can CBT help with?

CBT can be helpful with many mental health concerns including, but not limited to:

  • anxiety

  • depression

  • panic disorder

  • chronic pain

  • chronic illness

  • low self-esteem

  • PTSD

  • stress management

  • life transitions
